I was perusing through an issue of Artful Blogging (didn’t write down the issue, but found out via this blog that it’s the Spring 2012 issue) at Barnes & Noble and had to make a note of some (probably most) of the featured blogs. I glanced at these blogs, but would like gander at them a little more 🙂
The pics are from the blogs. Click on each pic to be taken to the post or site.
Here’s a list:
eliseblaha.typepad.com: various this and that. Crafts, etc. I think this is a cool idea are these are so cute.
cluckclucksew.com: quilts! I don’t think I’ve ever finished a quilt…yet(?), but they’re still fun to look at and think about.
creativeblessing.blogspot.com: scrapbook-type stuff. More of these!
cristinaashleydesigns.blogspot.com: this and that. This post caught my eye.
sperlygirl.com: some cool photos.
specsandwings.blogspot.com: art-type stuff.
notesfromdionne.blogspot.com: more this and that. This project is cute!
Enjoy these blogs!
I was browsing Sephora and testing their nailpolishes (my fingernails were quite exquisitely varied after my fun there) and found this beautiful color from Dior! Seems like it was a darker shade in real life, but maybe that’s becase I had layered it over some other polish. I’m not a huge fan of the name of the shade, but for some reason I’m kind of obsessed with the color. (Maybe I’m just obsessed with the idea that I had Dior on my thumbnail. It’s quite possible.) It’s a dark turquoise-y color that I ended up really liking…not enough for the price tag, but liking it enough to post about on my blog. 🙂
I felt pretty fancy having a Dior-painted thumbnail. It went on nicely in one coat, but the brush was a little weird to work with…if you’re thinking of buying it, test it out first. But I suppose you could always just use a different brush if you don’t like the way this one’s made (the stick part is kind of flat instead of round. It also seemed to get a lot of polish if I remember correctly). I put some sort of shimmery eyeshadow in a similar color on part of it (going for sort of a gradient-ish look), which was quite pretty.
Do you have Dior polish? Or have you tried it? What do you think of it?
Here‘s an article I found via a post on Facebook. It’s pretty cool!
Disclaimer: There’s a swear word in the beginning of the article. 😦
How many languages do you speak? What language(s) would you like to learn and/or improve? If you’ve learned foreign languages, what are your tips for others learning or wanting to learn foreign langauges?
Supplies: fake flowers, snap hair clip (great use for one that was decorated but came apart), glue (I used hot glue), something for the middle (I used a gem-type decoration).
1. take flowers off of stems
2. glue a flower to clip
3. keep stacking flowers on….if you wish
4. glue on embellishment
5. let cool and/or dry, pull off any hot glue spiderwebs (if necessary) & wear!
This is a roll-down-the-windows-and-turn-up-the-volume song. 🙂 I’m a fan.
What do you think about that leaf-thing on Kelly Clarkson‘s hand during the mixing/TV part? Yay or nay?
Let’s talk about her hairdos. Really liking the one in the beginning and the other one grew on me when I was re-watching the vid (not that I disliked it, but as I was watching it, the first one caught my eye the most at first).
And how cool is it that she included her fans in the music vid?
